This go around we’ve Megan, Stu, Rich, Stephanie, Jaimee, Fox, Tom, and Sean share the some newer songs we’re playing at the station, but they also have some classic caught in there heads too.
I have a few songs and albums I can’t get out of my head. I love our local scene and there are two songs in particular that I’ve had on repeat. Avery Mandeville is one of our strongest vocalists, performers & lyricists in the area. You may have heard her song ‘Quarter To Four’ on Brookdale Public Radio in the past. One of her latest songs, ‘Blood’ is a perfect mix of Jenny Lewis and Miley Cyrus. You can catch her Our Week in the near future.
Devin Dawson is a former hard rocker who just released his first country album and I must admit, I’m a little obsessed with it. Dark Horse is one of the best and most respectable country albums that has been released in the past few years. The title track, ‘Second To Last’, ‘Asking For A Friend’ and ‘Second To Last’ are the highlights.
Ballroom Thieves are a constant obsession for me. They have the most poetic lyrics I have ever heard and every time I listen to them I find a new favorite lyric or song. ‘Bees’ and ‘Anybody Else’ are two songs that I am in love with.
Stephanie Coskey & Rich Robinson:
Great minds think alike, they say…
I’ve got two: Shannon & the Clams‘ “The Boy” and “I Pity The Fool” from Tedeschi Trucks Band.
Since JBT are playing Red Rocks again in June, and I’m trying to figure out how to get there.
When we started playing “Girlfriend” from Anderson East I immediately got the hook caught in my head (that’s why they call it a hook, right?). There’s a whole wall of sound thing going on, I love the horns and organ work. I was a home run. Then I saw the video…paying homage to Wes Anserson, on of my favorite directors. That sealed the deal.
This one’s been stuck in my head for awhile
