The decision to build the Taylor Pavilion 5th Avenue and Boardwalk in Belmar was rejected (Has passed. Please See The Updated Story). With just 1443 votes 52.1% said “no” to rebuilding the pavilion that was destroyed during Superstorm Sandy.
A referendum in Little Silver to allow restaurants to serve alcohol has passed. Red Bank Green reports that voters approved the binding referendum by a 742 to 692 margin, which calls on the council to create and auction off a single license for on-premise consumption of alcoholic beverages. It is not in the hands of the borough council to approve zoning ordinances for a bar or restaurant.
