Belmar Rejects Pavillion & Little Silver Says “Yes” To Bars

There were only two ballot questions Tuesday in Monmouth County.

The decision to build the Taylor Pavilion 5th Avenue and Boardwalk in Belmar was rejected (Has passed.  Please See The Updated Story). With just 1443 votes 52.1% said “no” to rebuilding the pavilion that was destroyed during Superstorm Sandy.

A referendum in Little Silver to allow restaurants to serve alcohol has passed. Red Bank Green reports that voters approved the binding referendum by a 742 to 692 margin, which calls on the council to create and auction off a single license for on-premise consumption of alcoholic beverages. It is not in the hands of the borough council to approve zoning ordinances for a bar or restaurant.
