MAC Music Café

May 22 @ 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM EDT

Join us for our May MAC Music Café where we welcome all new performers to our monthly showcase: talented local singer-songwriters Denise Miller, Karl Dentino, Lady and the Gramps and GorillaBob. The concert will take place in the MAC’s theater. The event is free with a suggested donation of $5.

Denise Miller is from little Egg Harbor in southern Ocean County, NJ, and writes folk and country music. Her new double album, “Through the Looking Glass”, is 30 songs spanning 25 years of early demos to new releases describing the history of “Denise Miller and Son”. Themes include family to recovery to world peace to an insolent cat! It is reflection of one’s life. Denise is a winner of the Indie Music Channel Awards “Best Emerging Band of the year” and a member of the Recording Academy, the Acoustic Musicians Guild and BMI. Visit to learn more.

Karl takes audiences on a musical journey back to a time when virtually all songs were created to help people forget their troubles and cares. Performing popular standards, acoustic blues and country/folk tunes from the early 20th century, he weaves together his syncopated fingerstyle guitar, clear vocals and rhythmic harmonica to delight audiences of all ages. His performances often include historical anecdotes about the songs, composers, performers and cultural settingS in which the music thrived. ?Karl has been entertaining audiences at senior communities, civics organizations, farmers’ markets, coffee houses and other venues with his unique presentation since 2009, having delivered more than 600 musical programs to date.

Lady and the Gramps are an acoustic trio hailing from Monmouth County, NJ. Back in 2021, a collection of music lovers met at Lakehouse Music Academy and formed the band Slipped Disk, which has had the honor of performing at venues such as The Stone Pony, Asbury Lanes, The Saint and the Wonder Bar. Early the following year, three of its members decided to create an acoustic side piece for the band and Lady and the Gramps was born! As well as performing memorable original songs, band members Jessica Yalango (vocals), Dan Pitzer (backup vocals/guitar) and Vinnie Tripodi (guitar) put their own acoustic spin on a variety of music from The Beatles to Oasis, Melissa Etheridge, The Cranberries, Radiohead, LIT and even The Interrupters! They’re looking forward to a summer full of music. Follow Lady and the Gramps on Facebook for information about upcoming performances!

GorillaBob. He’s a self-described, willful participator who enjoys songs and stories; tales of derring-do; pleasant palaver; rural ribaldry; raucous Rusticana; snappy patter and fancy banter. He’s not so much “quick”, as much as he’s “sudden”. He is anticlimactic as well as anti-semantic.
