Bruce Brickman, Esq
You be the judge! We will examine three Supreme Court Cases recently argued, but not yet decided.
Cases are:
– Free Exercise of Religion Versus Equal Protection of the Law
– Health Insurance under the ACA Versus Due process
– Van Buren v U.S. – Computer Fraud and Abuse Act
Gain a deeper understanding of how the court works and how each Justice uses questions and arguments to persuade or promote a preference. We will explore each Justice’s interpretative prism, sift through key arguments and precedent, then, you will judge for yourself. And vote! After the Court issues its rulings, we will reconvene and discuss. How close were your opinions to the majority or dissenting views? Which fundamental personal liberties were affected? How?
