PXTS Gallery Presents “Something’s Askew” a Solo Art Show of Pat Dunigan

About: Park Across The Street is pleased to welcome New Jersey native Pat Dunigan.
Something’s Askew sees Dunigan using a multitude of mediums to create compositions that are then brillitantly brought to paint on paper, in an array of bold colors and exotic shapes.
Pat on the works.
“I love when the unexpected happens. When colors and shapes that should not go together, do.
When things that should be out of sync come together.
But never perfectly.
It’s always more fun when it’s slightly askew.’
Show Opens

Marguerite Montserrat: Opening Reception

Marguerite Montserrat’s abstractions will be presented in a solo exhibition that kicks off her year as a 2023 Artist In Residence at the Oyster Point Hotel. Marguerite works in a myriad of styles from geometric to free-form to lyrical. Joyous, vibrant color is what they have in common.

Compliments of the Oyster Point Hotel, wine, and hors d’oeuvre, will be served to celebrate this festive occasion.

“Flowers” Exhibition Opening

“Flowers” – works by Pat Dunigan and Monica Loncola will be opening Friday, July 8th from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Oyster Point Hotel in Red Bank, NJ. The reception is a free event and we hope you can join us to meet the artists and curator Ellen Martin.

The two artists paint the same subject using different styles. Dunigan’s flowers are created in acrylic paintings that are free-wheeling, large, and gestural while Loncola’s are diminutive oil paintings with controlled brushstrokes. All of the work is beautiful.

“It was just time to offer a light and happy theme at the hotel, with gorgeous paintings of a subject that everyone can relate to,” says Martin.

Monica Loncola received her BFA in Studio Arts from Rosemont College and continued her studies at the Art Students League in NYC, among other institutions. Pat Dunigan got a teaching degree and studied languages and fine arts at Skidmore where she received her BS.

Opening Geanna Merola “Window Works”

Geanna Merola lived on Elizabeth Street in New York City for 17 years. During that time, she photographed the windows of the shops that lined the downtown streets, and eventually found her way to the lighting district in Lower Manhattan. Being drawn to patterns and the layering of imagery, she started recording the dream-like imagery of the hanging crystal lamps visible through the large glass panes. Geanna Merola, “Window Works” will open at the Oyster Point Gallery on Friday, June 3rd, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. There will be an artist talk on Sunday, 6/26 at 3:00 pm.
