The 1st Annual Sisters For A Cure Benefit Concert will be held at the Headliner, in Neptune, on Sat Oct 5, 2024. All funds being raised will be donated directly to Susan G Komen
Foundation, which is dedicated to
“addressing breast cancer on multiple fronts such as research, community health, global outreach and public policy initiatives in order to make the biggest impact against this disease.”, per their website.
The idea for this benefit show was conceptualized by local promoter, Kelly Kachmar, of Kachmar Productions.
Kelly creates website design, and does promo work for venues and musicians, and is the creator of Jersey Shore Jams and Decades monthly night at the Headliner. In addition to her connecting area musicians with venues, her philanthropic pursuits include organizing music benefits like Rolling Stones Day for Rescue Ridge, held at the Headliner, and now, the inaugural, Sisters For A Cure Concert.
The event will showcase 3 different, all-female bands, created specifically for this event, and comprised of 50 women musicians and singers, who will perform 90-min sets, of all female written covers, of mixed genres. Each band is comprised of 15-17 women.
BAND 1:
Will be lead by local musician, Jenny Barnes, Recording artist, front woman, guitarist, singer and songwriter for the Jenny Barnes Band.
Raised on the Jersey shore music scene. Writing since the age of 11, She's been a favorite at local clubs and festivals since early 2000.
Jenny is working on her debut album.
She has been featured guest vocalist twice, reaching number one on, The Roots Music Review contemporary blues charts.

BAND 2:
Being lead by Pam McCoy,
A local Singer/songwriter, playing solo, as well as with her band, Pam McCoy & Familiar Faces, performing on the Jersey Shore, since early 90’s. She has released original music over the last few years, and collaborated with area musicians on their recordings, also performing with tribute bands, like Decade, and at Count Basie Theater shows, “A Marvelous Night-Van Morrison”, with Pat Guadagno for 8 yrs, and most recently a Warren Zevon show at the Basie. She is also featured on Stormin Norman Seldin’s latest vinyl and cd release, A Timeless Memory.

BAND 3:
Lead by Dawn Hopkins,
Promoter of the Women of Song event for the Light of Day Foundation.
She is Bassist and singer in the Me And Bobby D Band, as well as a Guitarist and songwriter. She is a Professional billiards player and Hall of Famer reaching the top 16 ranked in four decades.

There will also be a huge auction and giveaways, as well as prizes, all day long.
Doors open at 12.
Music begins at 2pm.
