The automated camera networks capture and store computer-readable images of license plates in a centralized database that is accessible to law enforcement. State Police will get the largest amount of the grant, over 3 million dollars, though at least one agency in all 21 counties received funding. The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department will also receive money.
