Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on October 11, 2024, Salvatore Umek, 46, of Point Pleasant Beach, was sentenced by the Honorable Guy P. Ryan, P.J.Cr.P., to five years New Jersey State Prison as a result of his previously entered guilty plea to Theft, relative to his former position as Treasurer for the Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company Number 2. Judge Ryan also ordered Umek to pay restitution in the amount of $107,517. Umek pled guilty to the charge before the Honorable Dina M. Vicari, J.S.C., on June 10, 2024.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that on August 16, 2024, the Honorable Guy P. Ryan, P.J.Cr.P., sentenced Michele Nycz, 60, and Aimee Lonczak, 51, both of Brick Township, to 364 days in the Ocean County Jail as a condition of a four-year probationary term, as a result of their previously entered guilty pleas to two counts of Animal Cruelty in connection with an investigation that began on December 2, 2022 in Brick Township.
